Vandayar Founded Sri Pushpam College in 1956, at that time there were no College for technical education in Tanjure, except Kudanthai Arasu Kalluri, he started college for the upliftment of economically backward people, Late Rao Bahadur Sri. A. Veeriya Vandayar after visiting European countries established the college with a vision of new ideas. The institution is named after the family deity Sri Pushpa Vaneswara.
